The Shape of Thoughts is an interactive exhibition exploring what we carry inside — thoughts, emotions and experiences we rarely share. Blending art, psychology and data visualisation, the exhibition creates a space for reflection, curiosity and connection.

Through a series of installations, visitors were invited to contribute a thought, image or colour, becoming part of a live visual environment shaped by everyone who takes part.

The invitation.

An experimental format blending art psychology and data science to bring you a new way to look at mental health and the way we think about reflection.

We invited people to come and explore themselves or to take this as a moment to come with a friend and deepen your connection.

What happened?

Hundreds of people passed through the space with thousands of reflections shared. Due to popular demand the space was extended as a part of AI Week and different social gatherings. We were proud of the life the space took on a place for contemplation and connection.

Behind the scenes, before we switched the lights on.

The Shape of Thoughts ran from 1–14 May 2026.

Kindly hosted at Stone & Chalk, 121 King Street, Melbourne CBD.

Designed and directed by Jess Leondiou. Her work has been stocked by MONA, Museum of Old and New Art, and QAGOMA, Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art.
